During a Reddit AMA session on Friday, Microsoft’s head of Windows Phone Joe Belfiore showed of an upcoming addition to the company’s smartphone platform – a file management feature that will allow users to browse a phone’s file system and to create folder hierarchies to organize and store documents, images, and other types of files.
Based on a handful of screenshots from Belfiore's phone, the file browser will allow users to access, move, and manage files on both the Windows Phone’s built-in storage and SD cards (where the device supports them). It will also have a user interface and experience that is almost identical to the OneDrive app currently available on Windows Phone, iPhone, and Android handsets. It also includes what appear to be buttons for syncing files or folders to OneDrive as well as deleting and moving files from one location to another.
