Its been about three weeks since Apple pushed out its current iOS 8 update, iOS 8.1.2. iOS 8.1.2 is a small bug fix update but it’s one that’s had both a positive and negative effect on iOS 8 powered iPhones and iPads. With that in mind, we want to revisit Apple’s iPad Air iOS 8.1.2 update three weeks after the software’s release.
Apple’s taken a long windy road to get to its current iOS 8.1.2 update. In mid-September, Apple’s iOS 8 update pushed out with new features and enhancements in and almost immediately, iOS 8 problems started plaguing owners of the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This is typical of a major iOS update and we, like many others, expected Apple to push out a bug fix update immediately after iOS 8’s release.
Right on cue, Apple pushed out an iOS 8.0.1 update with assorted bug fixes on board though it did not have the intended results. While it did deliver some fixes, it also broke cellular connectivity and Touch ID for some users. These issues forced Apple to quickly go back to the drawing board and a day later, the company conjured up an iOS 8.0.2 update that tackled those problems and delivered the rest of the fixes to those that did not upgrade to iOS 8.0.1.

iOS 8.2 for iPhone & iPad: What You Need to Know Right Now
Apple’s iOS 8.1.1 update won’t last forever and it appears that the company’s iOS 8.2 update for iPhone and iPad might succeed it in the future. With iOS 8.2 in beta and iOS 8 problems continuing to swirl, we want to take a look at everything iPhone and iPad users need to know, right now, about Apple’s upcoming iOS 8.2 update.
The iOS 8 update was first released to the public in September alongside the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The update, which replaces iOS 7, is not a huge departure from last year’s operating system. Instead, it builds on the foundation left behind by last year’s changes and delivers new features, enhancements, fixes, and more to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users.
As we have learned, the iOS 8 update also delivered a series of iOS 8 problems to iPhone and iPad users and over the past two and a half months, Apple’s worked to fix those iOS 8 problems through a series of updates. First, we saw iOS 8.0.1. Next, it was iOS 8.0.2 and iOS 8.1. Then, last month, Apple pushed out iOS 8.1.1.

Untethered iOS 8.2 Jailbreak Supported By TaiG iOS 8.1.1 Jailbreak Tool, Brings Support For English, Mac Version And PanGu Team Collaboration Expected In Future
On Dec 4, we had published about TaiG iOS 8.1 untethered jailbreak. The TaiG team has released a new version of the jailbreak tool - v1.0.2 which now supports English language. The new updated tool also allows users to carry out iOS 8.2 jailbreak. TaiG has also revealed that they are currently working on a Mac edition of the tool. However, there is no confirmation on when they will be rolling it out.
iJailbreak claims that even before Apple has released the iOS 8.2 firmware update, the TaiG jailbreak tool supports jailbreaking iOS 8.2. TaiG claims that Apple has released a stable iOS during Thanksgiving and it feels the iOS 8.1.1 will remain until the first quarter of 2015. TaiG is now waiting for Apple to public release the new firmware update. Even though the current version of jailbreak tool supports iOS 8.2, TaiG has disabled it and waiting until releases iOS 8.2.
Also, TaiG has launched a Twitter account @TaiG_Jailbreak in order to communicate well with English audience. The English TaiG iOS jailbreak tool can be downloaded at TaiG.com/en. You can refer to this tutorial link to know how to perform iOS jailbreak using the TaiG tool.

iOS 8 Review: Is It Worth Installing?
By Apple’s count, sixty percent of iOS users have moved to the company’s iOS 8 update. This means that there are still a ton of iPhone and iPad users lingering on iOS 7.1.2 and below. With more than two months of iOS 8 use under our belts, on a number of different devices we might add, we want to take a detailed look at iOS 8 and help those of you on iOS 7 and below over the fence. This is our iOS 8 review, more than two months later.
Last year, Apple introduced the biggest change to iOS since its inception. The iOS 7 update brought about some remarkable changes to Apple’s iOS design and it also delivered a number of new features to iPhone and iPad. iOS 7 was a massive update and one that many iPhone and iPad users installed onto their device replacing the company’s previous versions of the operating system.
Every year, Apple introduces a new version of its mobile operating system so as we moved away from the iOS 7 release, we knew that the company was hard at work on its successor. In June, Apple put that successor on display for the first time, confirming its next update as iOS 8. iOS 8, unsurprisingly, was not the complete overhaul that iOS 7 was and when the update arrived this past September, it wasn’t greeted with the same mass hysteria.

Four Months After Acquisition, Square Launches iOS App For Food Delivery Service Caviar
Over the summer, Square purchased food delivery startup Caviar. Today, it’s making ordering on the service even easier with the launch of a mobile app.
Square announced the acquisition of the curated food delivery service in August for a reported $90 million. Since then, the service has been adding new markets that it’s available in and now has an iOS app to enable customers to place orders from their mobile phones.
Caviar differentiates from most other food delivery services by partnering with highly rated, mostly fancy restaurants. The company works with those restaurants to become their exclusive delivery provider, arguing that it can enable restaurants to serve new customers while providing a better quality of experience to end users.
The service also let users to share a link with others so they could add together food requests under a single order. That particular feature is popular with the work lunch crowd, as office workers combined orders that would be delivered together.
Until now, however, Caviar’s service was only available on the web. The launch of an iOS app will change that, putting it on par with a number of other food delivery apps that have sprung up over the past few years. Like many of those apps, Caviar will allow users to see the status of their delivery and follow along the courier’s route.

The iOS 8 Widget Restrictions Don’t Make Any Sense
One of the things we most looked forward to in iOS 8 was widgets. A longtime Android feature, Apple introduced widgets as a part of Notification Center, which you access with a downward swipe from the top of the screen. By giving third party apps access to this coveted space, users could quickly glean information about their day and more efficiently navigate their smartphone experience.
Except that it seems Apple is still undecided about what’s allowed in a widget, and what’s not. Apple rejected an update to the app Drafts this week because the buttons in the widget redirect the user back to the app in order to process or complete tasks. This is supposedly not allowed under section 25.1 of the App Review Guidelines, which state “Apps hosting extensions must comply with the App Extension Programming Guide”—except that the text in this programming guide don’t seem to explicitly say this function isn’t allowed.
Drafts’ developer Greg Pierce was told Notification Center’s Today View is to be used for informational purposes only. (Pierce was not told to remove the buttons from Drafts’ widget or his app would be removed from the App Store, as other stories have reported.) The app’s widget has remained relatively unchanged since October 15 and has undergone three prior app updates without issue, so the sudden rejection was surprising.

iOS 8.1.1 update to kill Pangu's iOS 8 Jailbreak
There is no better time to download and install the iOS 8 jailbreak but now, as Apple is reportedly set to roll out the iOS 8.1.1 update this week, addressing some of the bugs and security loopholes of the previous version of iOS 8.
Days after the iOS 8 mobile operating system landed on Apple devices, the Pangu Team announced that it came up with the iOS 8 jailbreak, surprising a lot of iOS users as well as developers since Apple is strengthening the security of its operating system to prevent any jailbreak. The Pangu Team rolled out the iOS 8 jailbreak for the new iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus as well as iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad Mini, Retina iPad Mini, and iPod Touch 5G. After a few mishaps and issues, Cydia developer Saurik confirmed that the iOS 8 jailbreak was pretty stable.

iOS 8.1.1: 5 Things iPad mini Users Need to Know
Last week, Apple pushed out a new iOS 8 update for iPad in the form of iOS 8.1.1. iOS 8.1.1 is a small bug fix update aimed at improving performance across Apple’s iOS 8 powered iPads. With iOS 8.1.1 problems swirling and iPad mini users looking for feedback, we want to take a look at the five most important things owners of Apple’s 7.9-inch slate need to know, right now, about their new iOS 8 update.
Two months ago, Apple rolled out its brand new update for iPhone and iPad, an operating system that it dubbed iOS 8.0. The new iOS 8 doesn’t deliver the massive overhaul that arrived with last year’s iOS 7 update but it still brings some important new features to the table including improved notifications, Apple Pay, changes to iMessage and the Camera app, a new keyboard, and more.
Like any software update, the iOS 8 update delivered bugs and problems to owners of the iPhone and iPad. Over the past two months, Apple’s worked to iron out those kinks with a series of incremental upgrades. First, the company pushed out iOS 8.0.1. Next, it was iOS 8.0.2, an update that delivered fixes for iOS 8.0.1 bugs. After that, Apple rolled out iOS 8.1, a much larger update that spent time in its beta program. Last week, after another beta period, Apple pushed out iOS 8.1.1.

iOS 8/iOS 8.1 Wi-Fi Performance: WiFried Jailbreak Tweak Live on Cydia to Fix Issues
As promised by jailbreak apps developers, Mario Ciabarra has released a new jailbreak tweak called WiFried, which fixes the annoying Wi-Fi issue in iOS 8-iOS 8.1.
Mario claims to have narrowed down the issue of Apple's Wireless Direct Link (AWDL), which is a low latency/high speed Wi-Fi peer-to-peer connection used in AirDrop, GameKit (which also uses Bluetooth) and AirPlay. AWDL works using its own dedicated network interface, which is 'awdlo'.
A few of the features such as Instant HotSpot, Bluetooth Tethering and GameKit push their service via Bluetooth SDP, whereas the AirDrop does it over Wi-Fi, which in turn affects the Wi-Fi performance for Yosemite and iOS 8 users. These Wi-Fi issues are due to Apple's choice of using Bonjour software over AWDL, blogs Mario.
If you want to reproduce this issue on any iPhone, "Perform a speed test (many apps to choose from) and simply pull open the Control Center. This will cause the discoveryd process to browse and advertise services over your WiFi interface. You'll see an immediate reduction in WiFi speeds that will continue for a minute or two while the AWDL interface continues to browse/advertise. This occurs when Bluetooth is turned on as well as turned off, so it doesn't appear to be a Bluetooth coexistence issue," explains the blog post.

Apple delivers another Yosemite beta as Wi-Fi issues persist
Apple has come out with a second beta of Mac OS X Yosemite for developers, but it’s not clear whether this latest build will address the Wi-Fi problems that continue to affect an undetermined but apparently substantial number of users.
With this build, labeled 10.10.2 (14C68k), Apple didn’t identify any specific problem areas it would like developers to focus on as they test the OS, according to multiple reports from news outlets and individuals with access to the release notes.
When Apple released the first beta of Yosemite a little over two weeks ago, it asked developers to pay particular attention to several issues, including Wi-Fi, which has been a constant source of complaints since the OS came out.
That first beta yielded a formal OS update released to the public on Monday. However, that update, labeled 10.10.1, didn’t stamp out the Wi-Fi problems. Affected users have continued posting complaints in Apple discussion forums, third-party sites and social media services.
The longest thread in the Apple Support site about this problem, titled “OSX Yosemite Wifi issues,” has more than 1,330 comments and has been viewed almost 259,000 times since Yosemite first came out in mid-October.

SemiRestore for iOS 8/iOS 8.1 Released: Easily Restore Jailbroken iPhone or iPad Without Losing Jailbreak
There is finally some great news for avid iOS 8 jailbreakers, as CoolStar (the renowned developer of SemiRestore), has just updated his tool with support for iOS 8 - iOS 8.1 just in time.
With Apple recently patching up a number of exploits used by the Pangu Team with the release of iOS 8.1.1 update, the current Pangu8 jailbreak has been killed.
Consequently, the jailbreak community has been in a dilemma whether to upgrade their devices to the latest iOS version or hold back until the next jailbreak arrives on the scene.
To add to their woes, the iOS 8.1.1 update has been afflicted with numerous bugs linked to Safari and Wi-Fi, while overheating problems have been a major concern for iPad mini users running Apple's latest software.
Nevertheless, it is still possible to restore your jailbroken devices to factory settings or stock condition in iOS 8 without losing jailbreak, thanks to Coolstar's latest version of SemiRestore, the SemiRestore8.

5 Reasons to Update on iOS 8.1.1 Release Day
Apple’s iOS 8.1.1 release date for iPhone and iPad hasn’t been announced but a release could come at any time. With that in mind, iPhone and iPad users should start preparing for the iOS 8.1.1 release date and today we want to walk you through some reasons why you might want to install the iOS 8.1.1 release when it arrives.
Back in September, Apple released its iOS 8.1 update into the beta program for developers. For several weeks, Apple and its developers tested the update in order to ensure a smooth public release. In mid-October, after a short stint in beta, Apple released the iOS 8.1 update to the public and it stands as the company’s current version of iOS.

Terrifying iOS 8 security flaw has forced the U.S. government to issue a warning
On Thursday, the U.S. government released a statement for all iPhone and iPad users warning that a vulnerability in Apple’s iOS mobile operating system could give hackers access to their private information, Reuters reports.
The security flaw was originally disclosed by the security firm FireEye earlier this week. FireEye warned users that hackers could use the exploit to replace authentic apps with duplicates which would allow them to infiltrate an iOS device once the user downloaded the fake app.
According to Reuters, the government says that “hackers could potentially steal login credentials, access sensitive data stored on iOS devices and remotely monitor activity on those devices.”

The New iOS Security Hole Is Worth Paying Attention to, but Don't Panic
Researchers from the security firm FireEye recently uncovered a nasty little exploit in iOS they're calling a "Masque Attack." Once implemented an attacker can steal banking credentials, dig into email, and plenty more. Don't panic though, it's pretty hard to actually pull off.
Essentially, a Masque Attack requires a dummy app to be downloaded and installed from a web site. Inside that app is whatever malware the hacker wants to put in there, including keyloggers and whatever else. A Masque Attack can do all types of nasty things. Here's what FireEye has to say about it:

Taylor Swift's 'Blank Space' is now an iOS / Android game — and it's actually worth playing
I'm playing an interactive music video for Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" and I'm doing everything I can to avoid Taylor Swift. I already have a pretty good idea what she's going to do — I saw the linear video already — so what I really care about is following around the artist whose painting gets ruined as the song progresses. Or maybe the snoopy butler. Or the clumsy gardener. Or maybe I just want to hang out in the big dining room and just see who waltzes in and out. Something feels very off about the layout of this house and it's starting to mess with my mind. I should probably just stay in the dining room and let people come to me.

Apple iOS 8.1 To Launch Today. Here's What Is Coming In The Update
Apple ’s senior vice president of Software Engineering Craig Federighi said that Apple iOS 8.1 will be releasing today. Apple iOS 8.1 includes bug fixes, functionality for several Continuity features, the iCloud Photo Library, Apple Pay and the return of the Camera Roll.
Continuity
Continuity lets you easily switch between your iPhone, iPad and Mac or use them together. Continuity features include Handoff, Phone Calling, Instant Hotspot and SMS from any device. Several Continuity features became available when Apple launched the Yosemite operating system for Macs last week during the new iPad event, but iOS 8.1 is required to support SMS from any device and Instant Hotspot. The Instant Hotspot and SMS support features were originally supposed to launch as part of iOS 8, but they had to be delayed until the update was released.

Should you upgrade to iOS 8?
I hear from many of you when I write about my mom, so here’s an email I received from her today with the subject “Dad’s iPad.”
“Jim, I downloaded iOS 8 … if that what it’s called. Now he is having trouble getting his mail. Can’t read new mail and can’t change mailboxes. Was getting mail yesterday. If you have a minute, give us a call.”
I’ll give you the short answer I could have given my mom: “Reboot it.”
But I didn’t give Mom the short version. I took my time to explain exactly the steps to reboot an iPad, which I suspected she knew, but I wasn’t taking chances.
As I was sending my reply, another email from Mom arrives, “Problem solved … rebooted!”
But there’s more that I want to tell her.
Dad has an iPad 2. It’s compatible with iOS 8, but I probably would have warned her against upgrading such an old iPad.

Jailbreak iOS 7: With iOS 8, Jailbreaking Could be Thing of Past; iOS 7.1.1 Released Days Ago
A hacker who is working on jailbreaking the iOS 8 beta, which was released earlier this month, has said it will be available soon.
Stefan Esser, who goes by “ion1c,” said that Apple changed its directory structure. He said the containers that store the native files have changed, according to Business Insider.
Apple has fought tooth-and-nail to prevent users from jailbreaking their software, with each update of the iOS 7 needing hackers to release another jailbreak.
According to Business Insider, jailbreaking will probably become increasingly less used when the iOS 8 comes out, as it has more than 4,000 new application programming interfaces and has “iOS ‘extensibility,’ which will allow applications to talk to each other through Apple’s secure ecosystem and even project UI into originating apps, effectively enabling third-party apps to define how they want their content to be seen, shared, or acted upon in other apps,” says BI.com.

Weather Channel providing Apple more detailed data for iOS 8 Weather app than Yahoo did
The behind-the-scenes happening that led to the ouster of Yahoo and Apple's partnership with The Weather Channel were revealed on Friday by Re/code. The change coming with the launch of iOS 8 this fall ends a more than 7-year-long partnership between Apple and Yahoo for the iPhone's native Weather app.
The Weather Channel already provides data to Yahoo — who, in turn, supplied it to Apple's iPhone app. But in this instance, the company trumped Yahoo and took its place by going above and beyond, allowing Apple to cut out the "middle man."
"To convince Apple to make the shift and cut Yahoo out of the middle, the Weather Channel added a lot more technology and information to the offering that it does not provide to Yahoo," Kara Swisher reported. "That includes more weather specificity related to the location of a user, a nine-day forecast (up from five), a weather-conditions summary and more.

Apple Beefs Up iOS 8 Security In Preparation For Launch Of Secure Smartphone Competition
The iPhone 6 could be Apple AAPL +0.59%’s most secure smartphone to date thanks to iOS 8’s new privacy upgrades. The new OS has two new features in particular that show that Apple has responded to this new wave of enthusiasm for smartphone security.
The first is that location trackers won’t be able to duplicate data from anything running iOS 8. What that means is that when iOS 8 is looking for a Wi-Fi connection, it will randomise your MAC address (otherwise known as MAC spoofing), and effectively disguise any trace of the real device until it chooses to connect to a network.

OS X Yosemite first look video: AirDrop with iOS 8
As part of the "continuity" additions Apple introduced with its upcoming operating systems, the company enabled AirDrop between systems running OS X 10.10 Yosemite and iOS 8, a long-awaited feature for many users who own both Mac and iOS devices.
In the OS X Yosemite developer preview, AirDrop works much the same it did in OS X 10.9 Mavericks, but extended to iOS devices. The new operating systems, however, will allow file transfers from Mac-to-iOS and vice versa, bringing a higher level of device integration for owners invested in Apple's ecosystem.
Despite sharing the same name, AirDrop was previously segregated into two versions; one for iOS-to-iOS transfers and another for Mac-to-Mac. This made the process of transmitting files a bit confusing for some users who expected AirDrop to work seamlessly across Apple's computer and mobile platforms.

New “iOS Blocks” Concept Video Imagines How Widgets Could Work On The iPhone And iPad
A new iOS concept video and extremely detailed explanation from UX and graphic designerJay Machalani imagines how Apple’s iOS operating system could have its own version of Android’s widgets or Windows Phone’s “Live Tiles,” by introducing a new interaction that’s sort of in between each. In a blog post titled “Pushing iOS” the designer demonstrates an idea he calls “iOS Blocks,” which allow you to use the pinching gesture to quickly expand default applications like Weather, Music, Calendar, Messages and more from an icon into a small square that sits on your iPhone or iPad’s homescreen.
The concept was built using Adobe Fireworks CS6 and rendered in Adobe After Effects CC, and is intriguing because it looks like a natural progression of the iOS interface – unlike some of those more futuristic concepts that show of things like transparent iPhones ordual-screened devices.

Nokia Lumia 630 review: Windows Phone 8.1 shines, shame about the selfies
The Nokia Lumia 630 is the latest in the line that includes the Lumia 620 and 520 — two of the most popular Lumia handsets to date. And while the entry-level Lumia 630 lacks the hype, glamour and rich functionality (much of it often little-used) of a flagship smartphone, it packs in the elements most people — and certainly those upgrading from a feature phone — will need.
The Lumia 630 retails from £89.95 (inc. VAT) in the UK, which makes it one of an increasing number of handsets (like Motorola's Moto E) that promise a good-enough user experience without the wallet-emptying price tag of a high-end device.

Customize Windows Phone 8.1 notification quick actions
Windows Phone 8.1 introduced a brand-new notification shade. Similar to what's currently found onAndroid, the notification shade houses recent alerts and what Microsoft calls "Quick actions." These quick actions are simply shortcuts to common device settings.
Four buttons are displayed at the top of the notification shade. Tapping any of the buttons will toggle the current status of the setting, or in some cases (such as the brightness), multiple taps will cycle through the options.
Not a fan of the actions Microsoft puts in place by default? You're in luck. You can change the actions to suit your use, choosing among 11 total options.

MacBook Air with Retina Display Release Date: Apple iOS 8 may Launch at WWDC 2014
If rumors are to be believed, the Macbook Air with Retina Display may soon see the light of day at WWDC 2014, less than two weeks away. Meanwhile, an Apple press release may have confirmed the launch date of the iOS 8 mobile software that will replace the current iOS 7.
This week, Apple released the WWDC 2.0 app on a download page that has a screenshot of the schedule at the upcoming conference. Of interest is the Platforms State of the Union at 2:00pm, which is when Apple will likely be introducing its newest devices for 2014. The latest rumor from 9to5mac suggests that the Macbook Air with Retina Display will be making its first public appearance at this time, though this remains to be seen. Eight tips to get you started with Windows Phone 8.1
Microsoft released an update to its Windows Phone operating system last month. The Windows Phone 8.1 update is currently available for developers and will roll out to current Windows Phone 8 users over the next few months, although there is a way to manually update your device now. These tips will help you navigate the revamped operating system and access all of the new features it has to offer.
Customize your device
Windows Phone users could previously add a custom background image to their lock screen, however they were stuck with a rather boring home screen. In Windows Phone 8.1, Microsoft has given users the ability to now set a background on the live tile Start screen. This can be done by going to the settings menu, selecting the "start+theme" option, and choosing a Start background. From here you can also add an extra row of live tiles, select a new accent color, and change the phone's overall color motif from light to dark.

Apple iOS 7.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak: Which Developers Have A Jailbreaking Tool In The Works For iPhone 5S And iPad Air?
Several purported jailbreaks have surfaced over the past weekend, leaving the jailbreak community wondering who has one and when will it be released.
The possibility of an iOS 7.1.1 public jailbreak for the iPhone 5S, 5C, iPad Air and other iOS devices piqued the interest of Internet users over the weekend of May 16 after several developers revealed they possessed jailbroken iOS hardware running on the latest version of Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) mobile operating system. While the revelations reignited interest in an iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak, it also created much confusion as to who had a working jailbreak and whether or not one would be publicly released.

iOS 7.1.1 Jailbroken Untethered by i0n1c and winocm
There is some good news for the jailbreak community: Apple's latest iOS 7.1.1 has been jailbroken.
Although at present there is no tool to jailbreak iOS 7.1 or, iOS 7.1.1 as Apple has patched several vulnerabilities in iOS 7.1, earlier this month pod2g from the evad3rs announced that he was working on a jailbreak for iOS 7.1.
Now, renowned hack, Stefan Esser, commonly known as i0n1c and p0sixspwn developer, winocm, has confirmed the iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak status on Twitter.
i0n1c has shared a photo, suggesting an iPhone 5c running iOS 7.1.1 has been jailbroken and running Cydia.

Nokia Lumia 630 Dual SIM Review: A New Age for Windows Phone
It's a time of change: The Nokia we've known ever since mobile phones first appeared has finally been acquired by Microsoft and is now officially a subsidiary of Microsoft's Devices Group, which handles the Xbox and Surface product lines. The Lumia 630 is the first new phone out the door since the deal went through, but it's obviously been under development for quite a while. Still, it's obvious that things have changed - subtly but surely, this is the start of something new.
The dual-SIM version of the Lumia 630 has launched in India, and it's the first device to run the newWindows Phone 8.1 update. Interestingly, it isn't a clear replacement for the Lumia 620 - it's a bit cheaper than the 620 was at launch, but is also in a lower segment.

IOS 8 MAY BRING SPLIT-SCREEN MULTITASKING TO IPAD
iPad users may be able to interact with two apps at once via a new split-screen multitasking feature that's rumoured to be in development for iOS 8.
According to 9 to 5 Mac's sources, the feature is being designed with the 9.7-inch iPad display in mind, and it's unclear if it will also work on the smaller iPad Mini. It will only work in landscape mode.

Apple iOS 8 features 'leaked' ahead of conference
Apple is reportedly planning to include split-screen multitasking in its forthcoming iOS 8 operating system, as well as high-definition audio playback.
The split-screen multitasking rumour comes from Apple blog 9to5Mac, which cites 'sources with knowledge of the enhancement in development'.
This would allow iPad users to run and interact with two iPad applications side-by-side, much as Microsoft's Surface line of tablets allows users to “snap” applications next to each other on the screen.

Is this LG’s first Windows Phone 8 device?
LG could be getting into the Windows Phone 8 game, if a new image popping online turns out to be the real deal.
An image posted by oft-accurate tipster Evleaks shows an LG phone with the traditional Windows Phone screen. Dubbed the LG Uni8, the device could see the light of day this year, according to Evleaks' tweet as it specifically lists 2014.
The Uni8 resembles a traditional Windows Phone handset with the tiled home screen and the familiar navigation keys at the bottom. But otherwise, the leak doesn't reveal any specs or details about the device.

iOS 8 Rumors Suggest No iPhone 4 Compatibility
Apple's upcoming mobile OS update, iOS 8, is not expected to be offered for the iPhone 4, Gotta Be Mobile reports.
The fourth-gen was discontinued in September in the U.S. and again this month in several other countries (including Brazil and India) and already experiences some issues with iOS 7 features, making it a likely candidate to be the next device too old to make the mobile OS update's list. Jailbreak hacker and developer i0n1c adds that the iPhone 4's discontinuation is "a good indicator for iOS 8 not supporting iPhone 4 anymore."
