Two (Maybe Three) Simple, Obvious Features Apple Should Include In iOS 8

With one month until WWDC 14Apple AAPL +0.16%’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference, there has been an expected increase in rumors, predictions, and other attempts at prognosticating just what Apple might have up its sleeve this year. I’ll leave the speculation to others, but I will add my own two cents for a couple simple features—the sort that Apple probably should have already thought of—that I’d love to see in the next version of iOS.
When Apple unveiled iOS 7, it introduced a change in how iOS handles multitasking, and how you can manage and close the apps you have open. Double-click the Home button to bring up a card interface displaying all of the open apps, and you can close them simply by swiping up. In fact, if you scroll horizontally to line them up on the display, you can actually swipe two or three at a time off the screen to close them down. It’s a cool feature, and an improvement over the old method of closing down open apps, but Apple is still a couple features short in this department.
