Plex comes to Windows Phone 8, free to Lumia owners for a limited time

Plex has existed on Windows Phone prior to today, but its app was left floundering with only the basest support for the newest version, WP8.
Today, Plex has revisited Microsoft’s mobile OS with a brand new version, exclusively available for free to Nokia Lumia owners until the middle of January.
The app works very similarly to others in the Plex ecosystem, providing watching, listening and browsing access to media libraries both local and remote. The app works with myPlex, the subscription-based service that takes all the hack-and-slash setup out of local storage access — it deals with all the IP addresses and port numbers automatically — while offering a smooth, attractive Modern OS interface. According to a blog post, Plex for Windows Phone 8 was based on the Windows 8 version, though it’s unclear whether they’re referring to design or shared underlying code.
