The Popular 'Reason To Jailbreak' Barrel Updated For iOS 7, iPhone 5s

Barrel is a jailbreak tweak that a lot of iDevice owners use to show off their jailbroken handset to those uninitiated in the ways of the Cydia Store. The flagship jailbreak tweak can add impressive transition animations to one’s Home screen, and the great news for today is that Barrel has now received an update adding support for iOS 7 and 64-bit iDevices.
The update comes following the launch of Cydia Substrate (formerly MobileSubstrate) for the 64-bit Apple A7 processor. Jay Freeman (@saurik)published the update in the Cydia application yesterday, and from here jailbreak developers must recompile their jailbreak apps and tweaks for “ARM64.”
Though there are a number of tweaks already updated for iOS 7 and ARM64, including ClearFolders, Zeppelin, and 3G Unrestrictor 5, Barrel is the kind of jailbreak tweak that users will be able to show off to friends and family. Once downloaded and installed, jailbreakers can configure custom animations for their iDevice’s Home screen; these make springboard transitions look all the more appealing, and provide users with a degree of customization for this locked-down aspect of their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
