You might be hanging on for Windows 8.1 Update 1 or even Windows 9, but the next big release from Microsoft is going to be Windows Phone 8.1. We're not quite sure when the update will official see the light of day, but the current rumor is that an RTM build will be ready in time for BUILD, with a possible public release in May -- we'll just have to see how things pan out.
But progress is being made, and the latest step on the journey is Bluetooth certification. As of January 31, Windows Phone 8.1 has been official Bluetooth 4. 0 certified and this is confirmed by a listing on the Bluetooth SIG website.
